Have you ever known someone who was so greedy that you just could not stand to be around them? It has been my misfortune to be around a few people like that.
I heard a man one day say that if he had something that everyone would buy, he would set up a stand on a street corner and take every penny every person who walked by had. He was such a miserable lonely man. Everyone avoided him like the plague.
How do you know if you are greedy? Ask yourself some pointed questions. Do you hoard your money? Do you expect everyone else to pay? Do you think everyone is trying to rip you off?
Do you give to your favorite charity or church or some other organization? Do you help your family members?
If someone knocked on your door needing gasoline or some other hand out, would you help him? If you made a fortune or already have a fortune, are you thankful for it?
Greedy people think about money constantly. Money is their lives. Whatever money they have or have had leaves them easily. They are mad at the world and think others are the reason for their situation.
